I really do love audiobooks since I can listen while I'm at work (I work in a boring factory) but it doesn't seem to have quite the same benefit to my brain as reading a book. Still, it's better than reading social media by far.

I believe the main driver of book sales in the past three years is COVID, not social media. You can see in the chart that book sales started to increase in 2020 when COVID broke out. COVID makes people spend more time at home reading than going out.

Like you mentioned you already had two friends that you were close with, so having the brunch was the easy way to meet new people without being alone and starting out fresh. So, most people likely will not move to a community where they have long-term friends who live nearby. That’s actually a good way to meet people, however, the way you mentioned it was saying “we decided to have a weekly Sunday brunch”, meaning it wasn’t just you doing it by yourself. So, maybe it’s fine right out of college to hang with your old friends, but most people will likely move away as they get jobs and get coupled up fast. So, to be fair your advice is good, but it’s not the best long-term advice. My advice would be to look up local book clubs, or organizations they have hobbies that you individually have an interest in. Going alone will be the most healthy way to meet new people without your safety net of having long-time friends go with you. It’s okay to go try new places that you are interested in seeing, like nature walk areas, dog parks, etc. So, what happens is you meet people at different points of your life and you never want to just keep hanging out with the people you grew up with since a young child. Exploring different places and trying new hobbies by yourself is the best advice to meet new friends. If you’re lucky then you will click with certain people at different phases of your life. Don’t hold onto friends who have different interests and allow yourself to do things that make you happy individually. One thing that was a unique experience was going to a “trivia night” every Wednesday at a local sports pub/restaurant. I would invite people and they would invite people and eventually we had the largest table in the room at times. Where we had at least six tables pushed together. Good times!

Limiting distractions Become an active learner: • understanding the concept and writing it in your own words • Presenting to yourself Prioritize health, get enough sleep, staying hydrated, he didnt add this but also staying (physically active) - important for your mental health Ask questions about the topic if you understand Explain it as if you are able to understand to a young child, if not figure out what it is you are lacking

Hey John: I'm currently in search of a mentor for coding - I started coding HTML + CSS in 2002 when I was 11, I did some graphic designing also during this time - I was making custom websites for my friends clans and signatures for their accounts on forums. I took a 15 year break form computers to focus on working and my family, I'm 32 now and taking courses in computer information technology which has jump started me back in the computer science world. I'm highly motivated to learn, if you have any advice for me please reach out. Thank you for creating this content and sharing it with the world. You are making a difference. - Blake

Seeing your journey since before your college days. Used to wake up, see your video with a cup of cofffee and then prepare to get in a college. I am now working at EY looking for a masters soon...i know you might never read this, and that this is a old video and I will watch all of then in sequence to the lastest one, but you truly are a remarkable man and maybe you might look at all the people walking and walking and think that each one of them are leading a equally complex life as yous ( You said this remember) but that doesn't mean each one of us dust particle isnt beautiful, from dust to dust bit what a beautiful dance in the middle.

'don't be defensive' is one of the most deepest healing things to consider having present in existence. john worded it in a really good way here and i absorved it. People are trying to help when they criticize in good faith. it hurts like they're neglecting our whole being, but that feeling can be transformed to improve that specific aspect. accept. accept. accept. ❤
